Log In Directions

1. Before attempting to "log" into BlackBoard/WebCT, our online platform, make sure your computer is ready to accept BlackBoard/WebCT by performing a Browser Tune-Up.

Click this link and follow the directions - Browser Tune-Up

Detailed instructions can be printed from this link - http://webtide.hccdl.org/documents/Browser_Tuneup.pdf

PLEASE NOTE: The Browser Tune-Up is not automatic. You must follow the directions and make manual adjustments to your Browser. These settings will only be effective on the computer that the tune-up was performed on.

2. Please Note: Online Accounts are not ready until 10 days before the semester begins (Spring & Fall), even if you have taken an online course previously. Summer access is usually 5 days before classes begin.

To log in to your course/s go to http://webtide.hccdl.org, click "WebCT Login"

When prompted, type in your User Name and Password - which by default is your first initial of your first name + your last name + the last 3 digits of your Student ID number all in lower case.

For Example:
UserName: jsmith456
Password: jsmith456

Accounts are deleted and recreated every semester. This means that your password has been reset to the default as indicated above.

Important Information Regarding Access Codes

ACCESS CODES - Students enrolledin some courses will need access codes in order to participate:

These courses can be accessed by requesting "temporary access" on the enter access code page. Please note...Temporary Access is given for only 14 days. It is YOUR responsibility to purchase access codes.

A few courses require a "one key" or "mylab" access code.  Students will be able to get into the course without a code but will NOT be able to access all material.

Please click the link on the left (Online Course Information) for more information. It is your responsibility to obtain an access code from the Bookstore or online. NOT ALL CLASSES REQUIRE ACCESS CODES. Check your Online Course Information.

Students requiring access codes should read the information at the site linked here. Before navigating to this site, you will need to know which book you are using. This information can be found in your instructor's posted interaction plan. These interaction plans are located here under the more info button.

Access Codes

4. Students enrolled in the courses needing access codes will need to purchase a 15 or 16 digit PIN or access code along with the course text book. If you have a used text or a text without an access code, you can purchase a code online from Purchase Access Codes off the main E-Institute page. Be sure to buy the access code for the correct text. Check the Online Course Information and click on the More Info button for your course to get the correct text and version information.

After step 2, you should reach a License Agreement. Click "Agree" and then enter your access code in the field as displayed. You will not need to use your access code again.

If your access code does not work, you must contact Access code troubleshooting at:

http://behind.blackboard.com/epack/troubleshoot.htm . For more information on Access codes, click here.

5. When you log in for the first time, you should change your password (Strongly Recommended). To do so, click on the "Change Password" link from your My WebCT page. Enter your old password, and then a new password twice. Your password must be at least 4 characters long. Choose a password you will remember and write it down. Don't forget your password.
